This Easy Cucumber Dill Dip is cool, creamy and has a touch of sriracha for a gentle, flavorful kick. Serve it with fresh vegetables, chips or crackers for a simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer.

I discovered this cucumber dill dip among my grandmother’s recipe cards and finally tried it. I’ve always loved dips—spinach-artichoke, spicy avocado-bacon ranch, and more—whether for chips or veggies. My grandmother cooked from scratch, and over time I learned to make homemade dips for my kids so they’d enjoy raw fruits and vegetables as snacks. Homemade dips are fast, customizable and taste far better than most store-bought versions.
I adore cucumbers and the bright, aromatic flavor of fresh dill, so this recipe was a natural fit. The version I made is very simple and uses common pantry ingredients. I usually keep cucumbers on hand for snacking, so I only needed to pick up fresh dill the day I made this.
I did make a few small adjustments to the original recipe. Instead of scallions, I used dried minced onion for a slightly deeper onion flavor. I used one large cucumber instead of two medium, and I added a pinch of sea salt to taste. For heat I swapped classic hot pepper sauce for sriracha—only a teaspoon is needed, adding more flavor than spiciness. The sriracha gives a subtle lift without overpowering the fresh dill and cucumber, and kids generally enjoy it as well.

I served the dip with a platter of cut vegetables and a few crackers for an after-school snack, and it was a hit. It’s a quick recipe that’s perfect for potlucks, picnics, parties or a simple family snack.
