With only a few hours in an iconic city like New York, there’s only one option: move fast and soak it all in. My last visit had been more than six years ago, and the city lived up to every expectation.

In under 24 hours I tried to see and taste as much as possible. For those of you who call New York home, I’m envious — there’s always something happening here.

I love the energy, the constant motion and the way the city feels alive at every hour. Bundled up and carrying my older Nikon D40, I braved the cold and headed to the Lower East Side for a quick meal and a long-overdue catch-up. Taxi!

Off we went in the familiar yellow cab—still full of character and now equipped with modern GPS navigation.

We began the night with cocktails at Les Enfants Terribles. A good drink is always the perfect way to start an evening of exploring.

It felt great to reconnect with old friends over food and laughter.

The Lower East Side was buzzing—on a Saturday night the streets, bars and eateries were packed. I love wandering these neighborhoods and discovering small food shops tucked into the corners.

From fresh ceviche to colorful cupcakes, the variety is part of the charm.

The classic fire escapes still line the facades—those metal stairs remain a quintessential element of neighborhood architecture across the city.

Street vendors and pop-up stands add to the vibrant scene—yes, you might even find fondue served al fresco. After hours of drinks and conversation, a 24-hour diner is always a reliable finale.

I don’t eat like that every day, but a late-night cheeseburger with fries, onion rings, a pickle and coleslaw is undeniably satisfying and hits the spot after a long night out.
